Studio Astrid Stavro is an independent, multi-disciplinary design and communication consultancy based in Barcelona. We believe in ideas—distinctive, intelligent design that makes a difference and solves problems effectively. The studio is responsible for the creative direction of the International Music Competition Maria Canals, the creative direction of Arcadia’s corporate image and book collections, exhibition graphics and catalogues for Palau Robert, the design of the guides of the permanent art collection of the Reina Sofia Museum, merchandising for MACBA and MNCARS, editorial design for Planeta and a number of other publishing houses, and diverse design projects and event graphics for ADG-FAD and the Art Directors Club of Europe. For La Central bookshop and the publishing house Backlist, SAS has developed global communication projects. These range from corporate identities, promotions, book collection design, displays, marketing, signage and applied graphics to PLV, merchandising, branding and web design.

In addition to running the studio, Astrid co-runs Infolio. Infolio produces ornament-free quality books on graphic design and the visual culture, where form and content are closely interwoven and where design, typography and overall conception are matched by the highest production values. Infolio products may take the shape of publications, exhibitions, design related events or products such as the bespoke Art of the Grid notepads and shelving units or Babyscale for Nonnasixty.

Astrid writes design articles, interviews and reviews for the magazines Grafik, Visual and Étapes. She is also actively involved in the organization of design related events, and is a visiting tutor at IDEP (editorial design). She lectures internationally and has been jury in several design awards.
