The four major novels of celebrated Catalan novelist Mercè Rodoreda formed the theme of this literary exhibition. The exhibition was divided into four different rooms with a room dedicated to each novel. We assigned a different color to each novel/room, and used the number four as the basis for the graphic language. We split the catalogue into four different catalogues (Catalan, Spanish, French and English) with colour coding to help differentiate the languages. When placed together, the title of the exhibition can be read across the covers. The briefing for the catalogue was that it had to inspire visitors to read Rodoreda’s novels. We created real dummies of her novels, photographed them and placed them inside the catalogue, so the act of reading the catalogue would be—literally—like the act of reading her novels.
